I am immensely proud to be the Headteacher of Haughton School, and I am delighted to welcome you to our school website.
Haughton School is a Primary Special School for children with Moderate to Severe learning difficulties and complex needs. We are a caring, inclusive school community where every child is valued, supported and encouraged to flourish in their own way.
At Haughton School, we genuinely believe that all children can achieve success. We strive to ensure that every child accesses a curriculum that meets them where they are, builds on their strengths, and supports them to make meaningful progress towards their next stage in education and life. Our teaching is carefully planned so that learning is relevant, purposeful and responsive to the needs of each individual child.
Fun, engagement and learning are at the heart of everything we do. We know that children learn best when they feel happy, secure and motivated, so we create exciting opportunities that spark curiosity and build confidence. This includes learning opportunities in and outside the classroom to achieve success, helping our pupils to develop their independence, communication, social understanding and wider life skills.
We are very proud of the strong relationships we build with families and the wider community. By working together, we can share knowledge, celebrate achievements and support each child in the best possible way. These relationships are central to the life of our school and help to ensure that every pupil feels understood, respected and ready to learn.
